Charity

The vision is clear. We bring the excellence of the boardroom to the charitable arena. This means we ensure a common sense immediate decision making policy that precludes bureaucracy and provides direct and effective help to the most.

Orphanages International was set up by our Chairman His Excellency Bobby Wahi LL B (Hons) to support in the first instance established orphanages that are well run but in desperate need of help. These orphanages are vetted and subjected to rigorous investigations followed by personal visits by the board. The
Orphanage is evaluated and a clear and provable understanding of the difference the financial help will make needs to be established before any offer of help can be made. Once an offer is made Orphanages international segment the financial offer and make stage payments monitoring how effectively such cash injections are being utilised. Only by establishing “benefit and change” are further stage payments released.

The ultimate vision of Orphanages International is to have a number of International orphanages housing, feeding a clothing 1,000s of children under the direct supervision of the board. We aim to purpose build “orphanages” that move away from the traditional concepts. They will become villages with educational academies that adopt an overall "homely" approach to child care. The remit is to design actual villages encompassing small bungalows housing children recreating as far as is possible family life and encouraging strong bonds that will follow them throughout their lives. The villages will have educational and sports facilities providing for a well rounded upbringing.

Additionally the chairman has been appointed Ambassador for CISRI-ISP Inter Governmental Organisation under treaty N.37542 of the United Nations.

Under this role the chairman supports the work of the organisation to fight malnutrition worldwide. A speech was given at a recent meeting of the Economic and Social Council ECOSOC/6306 in the United Nations building (Geneve).

Our Chairman His Excellency Ambassador Bobby Wahi LL B (Hons) was on the 27th May 2007 granted the order or “Humanitarian Merit” by CISRI-ISP IGO.

Humanitarian Grants

The BW group is committed to providing financial assitance for humanitarian based projects. The group has access to G7 foundations that have substantial cash reserves for projects of national importance. The investment division of the BW group would be happy to facilitate such grants for any government that has qualifying projects. The process is simple and is open to any government regardless of financial standing. The grants that we can introduce bear no obligation on the host state and can be instigated by contacting investments@thebwgroup.eu

Humanitarian Projects are those that benefit people, create jobs and improve living standards. This category can be include hospitals, schools, urban infrastructure (i.e. energy plants, collecting and processing solid and liquid waste, telecommunications networks, roads and other networks) and more purely philanthropic projects such as nursing homes, centres for compensation of chronic disease, poor housing and civilizing and educational programs.

The particular grants / forgivable loans that we deal with can only be offered to Governments.

In the past, humanitarian aid was limited to providing funding for food, medicine and shelter to both developing and war-torn nations.

The definition of humanitarian aid has been expanded to include projects that provide “substantial and sustainable social and economic effort” such as:

  • Housing: affordable, age 55 plus, special needs
  • Educational: degree candidates, schools, job training, distance learning, SMB businesses
  • Energy: fossil fuels, wind solar, waste conversion
  • Water: purification, desalination, etc
  • Faith-based programs: individuals, kids, families at risk
  • Infrastructure: development and repair
  • Medical and health: hospitals and medical facilities, screening, research, etc
  • Environmental: Cleaning and prevention
  • Cultural, public policy and enterprise exchange
  • Technology: security, communications, supply-chain logistics
  • Sustainable economic development programs
  • Schools .
  • Health and educational facilities.
The BW Group is experienced in arranging such financial grants and will assist any government through the application process in order to secure such free funding with the minimum of effort.  Once granted the BW group sets up special purpose foundations and acts as project undertaker in the country in order to ensure such projects are successfully developed according to the conditions of the grant.

Typically each of the projects must be a minimum of €100,000,000.00 (at least
the equivalent of US$150,000,000.00) or there can be a grouping of projects that have a combined value totalling this amount.  Any amount over this is eligible for consideration and approval.
